First Reading!

For those of you following CFNBC's process in becoming a chartered school under a private members bill in British Columbia, we had our first reading before the legislative assembly. The bill PR bill 402 was read today at 2:47 PM by the Honorable David Hayer.
We are now awaiting a call to visit the committee and answer any questions the may have for us. Please continue to pray as our bill moves through its next three readings.

Monday- Marching on!

After a lazy weekend inwhich we did only what we wanted, it is back to work today. We heard from the East and Brenda will be in the area this week. Yeah!! Life is good but one thing has me concerned. I do believe that the world is going a lot faster nowdays. I can't prove it but, man the days just fly by.

Our senior pastor was out of the pulpit again yesterday and the topic of the message by the associate encouraged us to influence the world around us through relationships. Life is what you make it, served as a title and our marching orders, so to speak. On closing, we were not told to "go out and win the world." We were told to go have an impact. While this almost seems too passive, it does make sense. We can only impact what we are willing to be involved in.

So I am going to impact my world today, how bout you.

Jasper

While Becky was visiting us, she taught Jasper the song of the meadowlark. It is a lilting tune like this He learned it very well and this morning he was calling and calling waiting for that other bird to answer him. He was sad! I tried to answer but I don't nessasarily whistle on tune. Or sing on tune either but that is another story.

OBTW, you need Quicktime to listen to the Western Meadowlark.

Happy Spring!

Yep Spring has sprung.
Here it is bright and sunny but not so in other places. Clint and Becky Pickrel, our guest for the last week are flying back into a winter storm warning and heavy snow. That is the price you pay for living in the beautiful Plains. Of course up here we call them Prairies.
Clint did a great job as Summit week speaker. He connected with the students and they with him. After the week with the students, we had an enjoyable weekend of visiting and fellowship. Carrie came north to see them and all went well. We journeyed out to Chilliwack to reconnect with the Board, Clint is an advisory member and as usual laughed till our sides hurt.
It is so much fun to be part of the body of Christ and enjoy each others company even though weeks and sometimes months separate those visits.

Preparations are under way

Each term we host an eager group of the bible college curious. We are not unique in this, most schools do it. Called by various names in other places we choose to call ours “College Day.” Curious students and a few parents come to the college and spend the day with us; going to class, attending chapel and seeing if what we have to offer is what they are looking for in a post secondary school. Christ For The Nations Bible College is not for everyone. We know that. However, it is a place of potential growth on many different levels. We have academic classes, we have a good family feel to our fellowship but most important we have a strong spiritual emphasis. Some may question why we need a spiritual side to our learning. But Jesus revealed our need when He quoted Deut. 6 in answer to an inquisitive teacher of the law. When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus reaffirmed that we were to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We are to be well rounded and that should include a spirit that has been allowed, no encouraged, to grow as well. We train our bodies, we train our mind, we look for ways to increase our capacity to love but we need to also allow our spirit to soar. So if you know anyone (maybe yourself) whose spirit needs to be strengthened invite them to come be a student for a day. It may just open up their eyes as to who they really are in Christ.
OBTW, College Day is March 14, 2006. If you have any questions drop me a comment or give our office a call at 604.514.2364
