Back to the grind!

The first flurry of visitors and events of the summer have passed and we return to work today tired but oh so happy. We went to Carrie's grad which kicked off this visit frenzy and just returned from a camping week (four days really) in the Olympic National Park with Sue's folks.
Wow is all I can say about the park. This was our third visit and it was the most varied. We saw the giants of the world in the tree category and literally went from the sea to the sky up Hurricane Ridge. I will be adding pictures as I sort them out. Between the two couples, we took almost 300 pictures. Some were real postcard scenes.

Now it is back to work and it piled up while we were playing. I will try though and update more.

Fathers Day

Picnic

We had a lazy day yesterday. Went on a picnic to Harrison Hotsprings with Sue's parents. It was breezy but that made the kites fly high and fast. We did not take our Nemo kite but there was a flying Dory. But the entertainment was the two double string kites that swooped and swirled on the gusts.
Another bit of entertainment was the "International Sand sculptures" display. 34 very incredible sand creations. The pictures shown above were taken over the fence. We did not pay the entrance fee.
All in all a very nice relaxing day.

It is over!

The whirlwind weekend of Seattle Pacific University commencement is over. We attended the "Ivy cutting", a evening worship service, the actual ceremony and after party. Both sets of grandparents, all sib's (except BJ), room mate and even a cousin thrown in for good measure attended. It was great and even the rain held off during the outdoor ceremony held at Quest field, the home of the Seattle Seahawks. Sunday afternoon we had a joint gift exchange for fathers day, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, thank you's and what ever else anyone needed a gift for. No one was over looked. We played bocce ball, board games, drannk coffee, ate pie and way too much other food.
Our oldest son found an apartment so that when he and BJ move out they will not be homeless in Seattle. We reconnected with Tre, a friend from Dallas and Raleigh.
The paternal Grandparents are on the slow journey back to Gaylord and the maternal's are on the way north to visit us!
We can't wait to introduce Jasper to them.
