Resolve

Last week Pastor Ted encouraged us to resolve to be more like Jesus in all we do. He meant that we each have a choice to make on how the events of the world affect us. He based this on the example of Daniel found in Dan 1:8 where a young Daniel resolved not to eat the food the king prescribed. This food, although good for some violated the kosher diet that Daniel had committed to as a faithful follower of Yahweh.

Last night, Pastor John Fehlen, our Tuesday night speaker encouraged us to commit to a life of sincere and pure faith. Using Paul's second letter to the Corinthians as a jumping off point (II Cor 11:1-4), John encouraged us to maintain our Devotion less we become Distracted and end up being Divorced from our True Love.

God seems to be on a roll with the messages that He has brought to the school this term. Devotion, pure and undefiled. Commitment, complete and without reservation. Missing is the unnecessary hype and absent is the "whooping up" of emotions.
Are we emotional, yes but our motivation is the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.
